D-Day 80 in Helmsley Thurs 6 June 2024 from 2pm

Preparations are under way for the D-Day 80 events in Helmsley Market Place on Thursday 6th June. Helmsley Town Hall will have the D-Day Flag of Peace on show, the Helmsley Town Crier will Cry for Peace at 2pm from the Town Hall balcony and he will be followed by the bellringers of the Church of All Saints in Helmsley with the Ring Out For Peace. Showing at Helmsley Library for a couple of weeks is a display about Helmsley in the war. An area around the Market Cross will be coned off so that spectators can gather without having to watch out for the car park traffic. Please do come along.
